1. Do I need a High School diploma or GED to take a welding class or attend to Texas Made Welding Academy?
  • No, you do not need a High School diploma or GED to take any of our welding courses.
2. I do not have any experience in welding, what class should I start with?
  • Student with no experience should enroll in SMAW PLATE (STICK).
  • Students with experience will test out to verify course placement at no cost.
3. What do I need to enroll?
  • The only thing students need is to fill out our application.
  • See the link titled: New Student Application, under Tuition.
4. Do you offer Financial Aid?
  • At this moment we do not offer any Financial Aid.
  • We offer payment plans for students who are not able to pay in full.
5. What personal equipment do I need to have before starting my welding class?
  • Students only need to bring a personal welding hood, gloves, steel toes shoes/ boots, long sleeve shirt (preferably FR), and pants.
6. How many days can I miss per course?
  • Students need to inform their instructor for any further absences. Things happened and we understand.If after two weeks there is no notice or attendance, student will lose their spot, until one is available.
7. Will I get job after I complete my course?
  • Texas Made Welding Academy collabs with companies out in the oilfield. Job placement assistance is available but cannot be guarantee. The only guaranteed student has with TMWA is learning a great craft from actual EXPERIENCED instructors who have worked in the field for over 10 years.
